Government Mandated Mask Wearing

Wednesday, July 15, 2020 by Brian Rogge | News

As of today, July 15, 2020, Governor Bullock made it mandatory to wear masks in any business except where food and drink is served.

So masks are now required for live lessons.
I know some of you disagree with it, and if you don’t want to wear a mask then we can conduct online lessons. Thank you all for the cooperation and I’m thankful that we can continue to have in-person lessons.

Music Sign Contest!

Wednesday, June 24, 2020 by Brian Rogge | Contest

Happy summer!

Congratulations to the senior graduates. I’m glad you could have a ceremony after the shelter-in-place order and still celebrate this portion of your life journey coming to a close. Good luck to your next endeavors!

CONTEST
For current students and parents, I would like to offer a CONTEST for those visual artists among us. Paint, carve, color, draw, write, design, or otherwise create me a sign to display outside my new teaching studio. In the coming weeks, I will be putting the finishing touches on my space, and the cherry on top should be a sign to display our studio to newcomers.
1. Create a rough draft

2. Take a picture

3. Send it to me by July 6. Email works best.

4. Winners will be chosen by vote! YOU will choose who gets to design the sign I will display for all to see.

Some details to consider: you MUST incorporate “Rogge Music Lessons” into the design. Try using music notation or instrument shapes. Other than that, be creative and have fun!

End of Quarantine?

Tuesday, May 5, 2020 by Brian Rogge | Uncategorized

For everyone anxious to get our lives back to normal from the COVID-19 social distancing, I know many of you are wondering when we can return to normal face-to-face lessons. Right now, St. Paul's Methodist is still closed and I don't have my own proper space to teach in. In the future, I plan on building a heated space so that we can have lessons in our own area designated for musical learning. It will take a lot of my own budget and time to make it happen, so it's a goal that we may not attain soon.

In short, we have to continue our music lessons online for the present. I will keep you updated as I keep in contact with St. Paul's and other potential spaces as well as my personal project for creating a teaching space. Thank you all for making Zoom and Skype work, we will return to normal as soon as our government and the health experts allow. Thank you for your patience as we learn to cope in our new situation.

Keep making music!

No lessons for Spring Break!

Sunday, March 29, 2020 by Brian Rogge | Uncategorized

Announcement: we are having NO LESSONS during this week, Spring Break! We will resume online lessons on April 6!

Wow! What a time we are living in. As we "Shelter in Place," remember to get in exercise and breaks from the boredom. This is a great time to change habits, develop good habits, and reflect on our priorities. The next post will detail online payment options for April, but you may also send checks via the postal service.

Be well!
